Kenneth D. Miller

Chief Executive Officer

Kenneth Miller is no stranger when it comes to selflessly serving underserved communities.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, he has been veteran journalist for more than four decades serving as Managing Editor, Sports Editor & Entertainment Editor simultaneously of the Los Angeles Sentinel, President of the Cleveland Call & Post and Publisher of Inglewood Today weekly publications.

As founder and director of the prestigious Collision All Star basketball games he has been instrumental in honoring student athletes of all cultures for more than 20 years.

While in Cleveland he was appointed by County Executive Armond Budish to serve on the Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) Board of Trustees.

Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC) is one of the largest public funders for arts and culture in the nation, helping hundreds of organizations in Cuyahoga County connect millions of people to cultural experiences each year. Since 2007, CAC has invested more than $158 million in 350 organizations both large and small, making our community a more vibrant place to live, work and play. A proud graduate of John C. Fremont High School in Los Angeles where he is a member of the Hall of Fame, Kenneth is responsible for founding Our Global Humanity and therefore making it his life commitment to helping individuals better their lives.

Demaris Washington, PhD

Board Member

Demaris Washington, Ph.D. earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology, in 2009, from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Dr. Washington is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist devoted to promoting psychological and emotional wellness through therapeutic intervention to multi-culturally diverse and underserved populations. She has a rich background in working with youth, adults and families in various settings from Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health to Inpatient psychiatric facilities. Currently, Dr. Washington is the Center Director of Starview Community services where she oversees several programs including Full-Service Partnership, Multidisciplinary Assessment team, Trauma-Focused CBT and Managing and Adapting practices (MAP) therapy program. Her work with children and families with mental health issues demonstrates her commitment to improving the lives of children and families. Dr. Demaris Washington is also an adjunct professor of psychology at National University, instructing courses on African American Psychology, Group Therapy and Evidence based practice in Psychology.  Dr. Washington interest include but are not limited to academic successes and performance, the impact of trauma and violence on success as well as stigma of mental illness on multicultural populations. She has conducted research in various areas. Her scholarly work includes her dissertation on “The Effects of Motivation, Hopelessness and Exposure to Violence on Academic Achievement as well as her thesis on “Effects of Racial Discrimination and Stigma on African American’s Satisfaction with Mental Health Services.”

Kimberly Miller

Secretary

Kimberly has worked Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department as a Child Support Specialist for over 25 years. She has received three Performance Excellence and recognized by the Director for her excellent work and dedication for more than one occasion. Kimberly has been serving and helping families with support. Kimberly has also served as Notary Public for the past 25 years for Child Support Department. She enjoys assisting mothers to gain the support they need to care of their children. Kimberly obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and minor in Sociology from California State Dominguez Hills in May 1994. She has also worked at several outreach programs for Child Support Services by going out in the community educating mothers and fathers on services that they offer. Her goal is to assist these families in obtaining the support they needed to enrich the lives of all children. She is also currently working as an acting Paralegal by helping the Staff Attorneys in Probate and Trust while obtaining her Paralegal Certificate.

In her spare time, she enjoys walking, traveling, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She looks forward to working for Our Global Humanity, serving and supporting her community.

Kristi Minor

Treasurer

Kristi Minor has worked as a human resource analyst with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for over 20 years.    As a human resource analyst, she is a hardworking, reliable professional that is able to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.  She is a team player, working with management in carrying out objectives. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Accounting from the California State University, Dominguez Hills in May 1995.  Her goal is help families in need. She loves serving her church, reading, and traveling.
